A Pirate’s Life Indeed

Pirates were most rampant around the seas somewhere around the 17th and 18th centuries as they would spend months and months on a boat exploring the seven seas on quests for hidden treasure of some sort and adventures like that.  Some call them slaves of the sea, however, they are anything but slaves.  Believe it or not, but pirates actually led a pretty good life.

Of course, just like any other sea man or sailor, each pirate was assigned a specific task.  All of their daily duties were about keeping the ship intact.  Some worked on repairs and maintenance such as patching up the sails if needed.  Others worked in the hull.  Some had kitchen duties while others scrubbed the deck.

But when all duties were done, pirates often spent their time singing, eating, dancing, drinking and laughing.

The Pirate’s Pleasure Costume

This pirate wench costume goes for a more classy take on the typically rugged pirate look.  This one piece dress comes down to around the shin area.  Since this look is trying focus more on luxury, what better hue for the skirt than the very color of royalty, purple?  The upper part is actually a corset like off shoulder made of black velvet.

It has long white ruffled sleeves and the bottom part of the dress is lined with elegant black lace.  Throw over the matching black velvet vest that is almost as long as the one piece itself except instead of being lined in lace lace, this vest has a white trim that runs on all of the sides.  The same white trim can also be found on the upper part of the dress. Top it all off with a pirate had made of the same black velvet and lined with the same black lace.  A proper lady must make sure her clothes are properly matched, even if she is a pirate.
