Big earrings – Ok, the pirate/gypsy look but still looks fab.
Eye patch - You’re not a real pirate till you’ve worn an eye patch. I’d even go so far as to suggest a replica parrot but you’ll probably lose Polly late at night amongst all the fun.
Pirate purse – Just a bit of fun to keep your prized possessions safe for the night.
Faux jewelry – you want plenty of false ruby rings, emerald and pearl necklaces and a few gold rings…bling it up like every self respecting pirate wench.

Notorious Female Pirates
Anne Bonny is probably the most well known female pirate from the Golden age of Piracy. To say she was a firebrand is to put it mildly. Contemporary details of her life suggest she might have been responsible for burning down the family plantation after a dispute with her father. She left the family home to move to the Bahamas with her husband, a low level pirate. After a few years she started an affair with another pirate, known as John Rackham, who captained a sloop and crew. They skipped Nassau when they fell foul of the law and embarked on a spree of piracy.
Anne would dress in men’s clothing while on the ship to fit in with the others. Only Rackham and another female pirate (Mary Read) knew that she was a woman. Both Anne and Mary joined the crew in fighting and are believed to have held there own and commanded respect from their crew mates.
The crew were finally captured after getting drunk in a local port. Rackham, Bonny and Read were all sentenced to hanging for piracy. Rackham was duly hung but the women earned a reprieve because they were supposed to be pregnant.
After that few details exist on what happened to Anne Bonny. Some claim she was reconciled with her family in South Carolina and lived an ordinary life by comparison thereafter. Others claim she went back to her husband and continued to live in the Bahamas. And the final theory was that she died in prison either due to illness or from hanging.
Now it’s your turn to become a famous female pirate…at least for a night anyhow…go get your pirate wench costume now !
